OpenAI now lets US users discuss their spending, savings, budgets, investments, and credit by voice with ChatGPT. Its “Finances in ChatGPT” tool links to bank accounts through Plaid and incorporates credit monitoring from Experian. The service was previewed on May 15, 2026, for Pro subscribers before being rolled out to Free, Go, Plus, and Pro users, with OpenAI formally announcing the voice feature on November 3, 2026. At launch, it could connect to more than 12,000 financial institutions and offered personalized insights and budgeting tools. Account connections are read-only, allowing ChatGPT to view balances and transactions without being able to move money.
