The New York Stock Exchange has become the second major exchange to announce extended-hours options trading for heavily-traded ETFs and single stocks, following CBOE’s announcement. The new trading windows include an early session from 7:30 AM to 9:25 AM ET and a late session from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM ET, covering 29 major stocks and funds including Nvidia, Bank of America, and the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. Starting December 6, 2026, NYSE will extend trading to 23 hours, five days a week. CBOE data shows extended hours trading has reached record highs with more than 199,000 contracts per day on average. Monday volumes remained muted overall, with Tesla options standing out at approximately 3,000 contracts traded, almost all call contracts, worth less than $100,000 total.
