Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made his first visit to Kazakhstan on Friday, where he said the country could become a major artificial intelligence computing hub serving Europe. Kazakhstan is betting on its energy resources and plans to welcome data centers through a $10 billion investment announced with Firebird, which would power a computing cluster of 100,000 advanced GPUs. Nvidia also intends to invest in the company, which is pursuing an approximately 2-gigawatt infrastructure expansion across Armenia, Kazakhstan and other markets. The country already has 300 megawatts of power capacity in Ekibastuz, with plans to expand it to 1 gigawatt, while GK Hyperscale expects to invest $1.5 billion in two hyperscale data centers.
