Nvidia will invest one billion dollars in newly issued shares of Naver, South Korea’s internet giant, as part of a broader financing program of approximately ten billion dollars. This capital injection will enable Naver to triple its AI data center capacity from 55 MW to 200 MW by 2028. The investment comes in the context of Naver’s planned acquisition of Dunamu, the operator of cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, for 10.3 billion dollars. If both deals close successfully, Naver will control a technology stack spanning search, online commerce, AI computing, and cryptocurrency trading.
