Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presided over the grand opening of Wistron’s D1 AI manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 21, 2026. The 324,000-square-foot plant represents a 700 million dollar investment and marks Wistron’s first footprint on US soil. The facility will initially produce Nvidia’s GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip before ramping up production of the next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip. The plant is expected to create 1,000 jobs by the end of 2026. Wistron, a Taiwanese contract manufacturer and longtime Nvidia partner, is making a significant geographic pivot that reduces the concentration risk of AI hardware manufacturing being entirely based in Asia.
