Nvidia and Eli Lilly announced on January 12, 2026 a five-year co-investment of up to one billion dollars in an AI co-innovation lab in the San Francisco Bay Area. The lab will use Nvidia’s BioNeMo platform and upcoming Vera Rubin architecture to train foundation models for biology and chemistry. The goal is to build continuous learning systems running 24/7, with robotic equipment capable of executing experiments and feeding results directly back to AI models. Work is set to begin in early 2026. This partnership builds on earlier collaboration, including a supercomputer featuring over 1,000 Grace Blackwell GPUs established in 2025.
