Negotiations reportedly stalled over payment structure, with Sporting demanding the full 40 million euros upfront plus add-ons potentially reaching 45 million and a sell-on clause. Originally purchased for 7.5 million euros in January 2023, Diomande would represent a substantial profit for Sporting, who developed the player for roughly three and a half years.
