Nottingham Forest, a Premier League club, is set to sign Ivory Coast centre-back Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP for approximately 40 million euros, exactly half of his 80 million euro release clause. The 22-year-old player, contracted with the Portuguese club until June 2030 following an extension signed in January 2026, has reached a personal agreement with the English club. Negotiations reportedly stalled over payment structure, with Sporting demanding the full 40 million euros upfront plus add-ons potentially reaching 45 million and a sell-on clause. Originally purchased for 7.5 million euros in January 2023, Diomande would represent a substantial profit for Sporting, who developed the player for roughly three and a half years.
