The Kyiv leg would be particularly significant as neither envoy has visited Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion began, while Witkoff alone has made at least eight trips to Moscow during the same period. The planned visits follow a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on July 28. The trip is being planned for the second half of August, potentially coinciding with Ukraine’s Independence Day on August 24. A subsequent trip to Moscow is anticipated after the Kyiv visit.
