Netflix has announced The Altruists, an eight-episode limited series that traces the rise and fall of cryptocurrency platform FTX. Julia Garner portrays Caroline Ellison, former co-CEO of Alameda Research, while Anthony Boyle plays Sam Bankman-Fried. The series, produced by the Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions, will premiere on November 19, 2026. The FTX scandal vaporized $8 billion in customer funds, sending its founder to prison for 25 years. Caroline Ellison received a two-year sentence after cooperating with prosecutors as the star witness in the case.
