NEAR has released nearcore 2.14.0-rc.1, marked as both a protocol and database upgrade. This release removes contract gas rewards, setting the burnt-gas reward parameter from 30% to zero, and introduces a bound on the combined size of resolved promise inputs. It also adds an ml_dsa_verify host function allowing on-chain verification of ML-DSA-65 signatures, a post-quantum digital signature standard. As a release candidate, the software is being tested by validator operators before the final stable build is promoted. This upgrade is targeted at node operators, not end users.
