NEAR Intents Identifies $3.8M Hacker, Gives Them 48 Hours to Return Funds

NEAR Intents has identified the attacker behind a security exploit that resulted in approximately $3.8 million in losses. GM Alex Shevchenko publicly addressed the hacker and gave them 48 hours to return the stolen funds to Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum and Solana addresses. The vulnerability, found in Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure, was patched within an hour and most services have been restored. The exploit was isolated to USDT on BSC, with the platform compensating all affected users in full. The NEAR Protocol and its native NEAR token were not involved in the incident.
