Mt. Gox, the bitcoin exchange that collapsed in 2014 after a hack that cost approximately 850,000 BTC, has seen its rehabilitation trustee push back the creditor repayment deadline once again to October 31, 2027. Nobuaki Kobayashi, the trustee overseeing the estate, announced this extension on October 16, 2026, citing practical obstacles and creditors who have not completed the required procedures. The estate’s planned distributions include approximately 142,000 BTC, 143,000 BCH and Â¥69 billion in cash, with roughly 34,000 to 34,500 BTC still under the trustee’s control. Repayments to creditors are being processed through intermediaries including Kraken, Bitstamp and BitGo.
