All Democrats voted no along with Republican Susan Collins, killing the cryptocurrency regulatory bill for now. Bitcoin immediately fell 4% to $75,960, its lowest since August 21, with ethereum down 5.4%, solana 5.1%, and xrp losing 9.4%. After years of lobbying and hundreds of millions spent by crypto advocates, the bill failed at this procedural stage, though regulators continue writing rules using existing authority. Polymarket now puts odds of passage in 2026 at just 5%.
