MoonPay has launched PayBox, a payment vault that allows users to execute crypto transactions and online purchases through conversations with ChatGPT and Claude. Users connect PayBox to either AI platform and describe transactions in natural language, with the assistant then preparing and executing the operation based on defined permissions. The service supports crypto purchases, token swaps, asset bridging across networks, DeFi protocol deposits, as well as travel bookings and restaurant reservations. Two permission models are available: Always Ask requires passkey approval for every transaction, while Autonomous allows the AI assistant to operate within preset spending limits. The security infrastructure is based on technology developed by Sodot, a key management company acquired by MoonPay earlier this year, which secures over $50 billion in assets and more than 10 million wallets.
