Boston-based voice intelligence startup Modulate has raised $25 million in a funding round led by Future Ventures, bringing its total funding to $60 million. Its Velma platform processes over 10 million hours of audio monthly, analyzing emotion, tone, intent, and synthetic voice detection. The deepfake detection system achieves 98.9% accuracy with a 1.1% equal error rate. The company charges $0.25 per hour for its deepfake detection API and $0.03 per hour for batch transcription. Founded in 2017 by two MIT graduates, Modulate targets regulated industries like finance and healthcare where voice identity verification is becoming essential.
