Microsoft on Monday launched MAI-Cyber-1-Flash, its first artificial intelligence model specialized in cybersecurity. According to the company, this model outperforms Anthropic, Google and OpenAI on the CyberGym benchmark while costing 50% less. It will be integrated into Project Perception, a collection of AI agents for discovering and fixing vulnerabilities, available in public preview starting August 3. Hayete Gallot, who rejoined Microsoft in February, leads the cybersecurity unit whose annual revenue exceeded $20 billion in 2023. Microsoft shares have declined 19% since the beginning of 2026.
