Microsoft has launched an updated Copilot app that combines coding and productivity features, which were previously offered separately through GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Of more than 450 million commercial Office 365 seats worldwide, fewer than 7% have licenses for paid AI tools, priced at $30 per user per month. Microsoft acknowledges it is trailing competitors like Anthropic and OpenAI, which dominate the market for integrated and user-friendly AI agents. The company’s shares have risen 3% year-to-date, underperforming the Nasdaq and its megacap peers.
