Michael Burry, the investor made famous by The Big Short, has seen his short positions against several market heavyweights generate significant gains during the July pullback. Tesla has plummeted approximately 24% since late June, falling from $416.22 to $319.69, while Caterpillar has declined 16% to $894.54. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF and Applied Materials have also dropped significantly. Only Nvidia has bucked the bearish trend, rising to $208.76 from the $198.09 short entry level. Burry disclosed these positions in late June on Substack and it remains unclear whether he still holds them.
