Metaplanet announced Monday it now holds 44,000 Bitcoin, worth approximately $3.8 billion, after adding 1,000 BTC in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. The company solidifies its position as the second-largest corporate Bitcoin holder behind Strategy, which owns roughly $73 billion worth of Bitcoin. The firm sold 10,000 BTC and later purchased 11,000 BTC in separate transactions to demonstrate its ability to convert reserves into cash while ending the quarter with a larger position. Metaplanet also generated over $5 million (¥848 million) in third-quarter revenue from its Bitcoin Income Generation business.
