Mastercard and BVNK have launched the Global Money Platform, a modular infrastructure enabling businesses to hold and manage fiat currencies and stablecoins side by side in a single account. The platform leverages Mastercard’s global payments network and BVNK’s stablecoin infrastructure, following Mastercard’s acquisition of BVNK for approximately $1.8 billion last August. It enables local-currency payouts via Mastercard Move, covering over 40 currencies across more than 200 countries by 2027, and stablecoin spending across Mastercard’s merchant network in over 130 countries. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the first integrators. Mastercard frames this platform as the plumbing for a multi-money world, with future plans for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits.
