Swiss non-custodial Bitcoin service Pocket Bitcoin disclosed that records for 291 customers were exposed, in some cases linking real names and postal addresses to public Bitcoin addresses and transaction amounts. Customer private keys and funds were not at risk since Pocket Bitcoin never holds them. The exposed data creates heightened phishing and physical security risks, as scammers could use personalized information to make fraud attempts more convincing. The company announced it had closed the vulnerability, reported the incident to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, and filed a police report. At this stage, Pocket Bitcoin has found no evidence of misuse of the exposed data, though it cannot rule it out.
