Blockchain interoperability project LayerZero has lost roughly a dozen partners this year, including Ethereum node provider Nethermind, which migrated to a competitor and terminated its verifier role. Over $15 billion in assets have migrated off LayerZero after the project confirmed that the Lazarus Group hacker collective poisoned its internal RPCs in April. The ZRO token has lost 31% of its value this year, 56% over the past 12 months, and 88% from its December 2024 all-time high. LayerZero announced it is winding down support for several low-activity blockchains, warning users they risk losing access to their funds.
