Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, will discontinue Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) deposits and withdrawals along with the USDT/UAH spot trading pair starting September 28. All remaining UAH balances will be automatically converted to USDT by September 30 with no action required from users. This move is expected to disappoint Ukrainian users, as the platform serves as an important gateway between the domestic financial system and the crypto market, with millions of users in the country. The announcement comes amid intensifying regulatory challenges for Binance, which is under investigation in the United States over potential violations of sanctions on Iran, after pleading guilty and paying $4.3 billion in penalties in 2023.
