ICE and Trade[XYZ] announced plans to seek US regulatory approval to open Hyperliquid-based perpetual futures markets to retail traders. The proposal would include a dedicated clearing structure separate from ICE’s institutional futures business to shield existing clients from retail counterparty risks. Distribution would run partly through ICE’s joint venture with OKX, pending separate approvals, following identity and anti-money laundering checks. ICE is taking a minority stake in Trade[XYZ] but has disclosed neither the investment amount nor a launch date. The project remains subject to regulatory review, although the CFTC approved Kalshi’s bitcoin perpetual contract in May and said other asset classes would be considered case by case.
