Hydra Test Replays Midnight Claims And Finds A Smaller, More Useful Speed Gain

A new Cardano scaling test replayed a real workload of 24,576 claim transactions containing scripts from Midnight’s distribution pipeline. Throughput rose from 42 to 79 claims per second, while total execution time fell from 590.4 to 339.1 seconds, a reduction of about 43%. The comparison used the same host and workload to evaluate two versions of Hydra. This benchmark concerns a specific pipeline and is not a transaction-speed measurement for Cardano’s entire mainnet. The more modest but measured gains on realistic scripts may be more useful to developers than performance figures based on empty transfers.
