HIVE Digital Technologies has invested more than $250 million in Tier 1 data centers in Paraguay over the past 18 months. The company currently operates 300 MW across two sites, in Valenzuela and Yguazú, generating approximately 8.5 BTC per day using hydropower from the Itaipú Dam. A third expansion phase is expected to increase the Yguazú site’s capacity to 400 MW by the third quarter of 2026, while total commitments related to its Paraguayan operations exceed $400 million. The project has created more than 300 jobs, and HIVE also plans to develop artificial intelligence and high-performance computing services on the same infrastructure.
