Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech, 33, is in advanced negotiations to join Botafogo of Rio de Janeiro before the Brazilian transfer window closes on September 11. The move comes just days after he mutually terminated his contract with Wydad Casablanca on September 6. Ziyech, now a free agent, scored 9 goals in 16 appearances during his eight-month stint with the Moroccan club. Botafogo, operating under the SAF structure, aims to make a statement signing as part of its ambitious project in Brazil.
