Google is discontinuing Jules, its autonomous coding agent, as announced on October 29, 2026, and will transfer some of its learnings to its Antigravity development platform. Users must complete active sessions by November 11, 2026, when Jules will switch to read-only mode, before the full shutdown on December 31, 2026. Introduced by Google Labs in late 2024, Jules entered public beta in May 2025 and reached general availability in August 2025. It performed tasks such as bug fixes and feature requests inside Google Cloud virtual machines and offered a free tier limited to 15 daily tasks and three concurrent runs. Antigravity is expected to benefit from Jules’s approach to background task execution, but Google has not confirmed that every feature will be transferred or announced an equivalent for Jules’s limits and pricing.
