Google Cloud is launching an AI agent integrated into BigQuery that allows data teams to build and manage pipelines using natural language instead of code. Data preparation consumes between 60 and 80 percent of data teams’ productive hours. Early adopters report a 90 percent reduction in ETL migration timelines using this tool. The preview launched on April 22, 2025, with general availability targeted for April 22, 2026. Meanwhile, Google plans to hire hundreds of engineers who will be deployed directly with enterprise customers starting in 2026.
