G20 to develop clear regulatory framework for crypto and stablecoins

The G20 has announced an agreement to establish a clear regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, building on existing frameworks such as the US GENIUS Act and the EU’s MiCA. This framework will notably cover reserve backing, disclosure requirements, supervision, and anti-money laundering controls. This announcement could strengthen confidence in the cryptocurrency sector, particularly for Bitcoin. Bitcoin futures markets indicate a slight increase in the probability of reaching significant price levels by the end of 2026.
