Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, is serving a two-year prison sentence for her role in the theft of $8 billion in customer funds from FTX alongside Sam Bankman-Fried. The CFTC closed her civil case on August 19, imposing a five-year trading ban and a ten-year registration ban without a new fine. FTX’s estate has already distributed over $11 billion to creditors under its settlement plan.
