Fireblocks, the digital asset custody giant that has secured over $14 trillion in transactions, has joined the Agentic Payments Alliance as a founding member alongside Visa, Mastercard, Circle, Solana, and Fiserv. This coalition of over 25 organizations aims to standardize payments initiated by autonomous AI agents, a market McKinsey projects could reach $3 to $5 trillion globally by 2030. Fireblocks launched its Agentic Payments Suite on May 20 to enable Payment Service Providers and fintechs to facilitate agent-initiated stablecoin transactions across multiple blockchains. The alliance focuses on agent authorization protocols, fraud prevention, and regulatory advocacy to adapt current legal frameworks, primarily designed for human decisions, to the world of autonomous agents.
