FIFA is facing a major governance crisis after withdrawing a plan to sell a 20% stake in its commercial rights to private investors for $4.2 billion, which lasted only 48 hours. UEFA, the Asian Confederation, and CONCACAF, representing more than 143 of FIFA’s 211 member associations, are now considering a no-confidence vote against President Gianni Infantino. All 55 UEFA member associations unanimously threatened to boycott FIFA tournaments if the plan moved forward.
