Fidelity report finds Solana resilient but flags concentration in stake, hosting and clients

According to a report by Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology published on October 16, 2026, Solana has not experienced a major outage since February 6, 2024, with validator vote success rate at approximately 99.7% in 2026. Tokenized real-world assets on Solana reached $4.4 billion, up from $1 billion a year earlier, and more than $2 trillion in stablecoin volume was processed in the first quarter of 2026 alone. The report, however, warns about excessive concentration: roughly 18 validators hold enough stake to halt finality, a single hosting provider controls nearly 29% of total stake, and approximately 40% of stake is concentrated in Frankfurt and Amsterdam. About 63% of stake runs Jito-Solana and 26% runs Harmonic, both linked to the dominant Agave codebase.
