Agentic payments on the XRP Ledger are growing exponentially, jumping from roughly 1 million transactions in July to over 13 million currently. The network processed 13,489,468 agentic transactions through 168 registered x402 merchants, settled via 6,982.32 XRP and 12,009.98 RLUSD. J.A. Akinyele, head of engineering at RippleX, predicts that 100 million agentic transactions could be reached sooner than expected. AI agents now account for approximately 25% of activity on the XRP Ledger, using the x402 protocol to pay for APIs, data, and compute resources. Ripple is developing purpose-built agent infrastructure including verifiable identities, execution safeguards, and smart wallets with fast 3- to 5-second settlement.
