Ethereum sees $243M in stablecoin growth, yet ETH’s price falls – Why?

Ethereum recorded a $243.4 million increase in its stablecoin market capitalization over the past seven days, outpacing Arbitrum One ($108.6M) and Base ($51.1M) for a combined total of $403.1 million. Despite this growth, ETH was trading at $2,492.27 at press time, with a 7.1% decline over the week. Ethereum ETFs experienced outflows totaling $634.80 million in October so far, while open interest on derivatives dropped from $18 billion in late September to approximately $15.42 billion by October 10th. The network realized profit/loss indicator fluctuated around zero, suggesting a lack of conviction among traders.
