Aztec, a privacy-focused Ethereum layer-2 network, has launched the Tierra upgrade, also known as Alpha V6, to fix a critical vulnerability and strengthen security. Its new architecture reduces Ethereum-to-Aztec message delivery from an average of two minutes to as little as 12 seconds. Transaction proofs can now be generated client-side in about one second on a standard device, twice as fast as before. The upgrade is accompanied by private applications covering payments, trading, artificial intelligence and social networks, including zk.money, Galactica, Nemi, Nulo and Rolling Chat. Aztec has more than 3,000 validators and previously raised $17 million to develop its network.
