The authors of EIP-8363 have withdrawn their proposal from Ethereum’s upcoming Hegota upgrade. The text aimed to progressively burn staking rewards as the amount of ETH staked increases, reducing annual yield from 2.6% to 1.2% with 34% of supply staked. Near 50% of supply staked would have burned all new rewards. Ethereum France president Jerome de Tychey stated that ETH monetary policy deserves a separate debate from the technical hard fork process. A dedicated process will include discussions and workshops through EthCC in April, with Lido proposing to participate.
