JPMorgan is expanding its JPM Coin (JPMD), a dollar deposit token, to Ethereum for its authorized institutional clients. Launched on Base in November 2025, this tokenized dollar remains available on Coinbase’s layer-2 while now joining the first decentralized finance network. Kinexys, the bank’s blockchain division, processes an average of 7 billion dollars per day and claims over 4 trillion dollars in cumulative transactions since its launch. Transfers remain restricted to bank-approved participants, with no access for retail users. This expansion positions the JPM Coin in direct competition with USDC and USDT in the on-chain dollar space.
