Ethereum developers plan to prioritize two proposals for the Hegotá upgrade scheduled for 2027: Frame Transactions and FOCIL (Fork-Choice Enforced Inclusion Lists). These changes could enable privacy pools to pay their own transaction fees, reducing reliance on third-party services that can expose wallet activity. FOCIL is currently the only confirmed addition to Hegotá, with the Frame Transactions package among 66 proposals under consideration for the 2027 upgrade. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has advocated for greater privacy, quantum-resistant security, and less reliance on layer-2 networks. Glamsterdam, the preceding upgrade, is targeted for the end of 2026, leaving developers 256 days to ship it on schedule.
