Ethereum developers postponed the activation of the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi test network after ChainSecurity flagged issues related to gas accounting. According to the auditor, the changes could allow some contracts to permanently record failed operations even when their code is designed to keep them retryable. ChainSecurity has identified 13 real-world examples and is contacting the affected projects, while the Ethereum Foundation is assessing how many contracts are exposed. Glamsterdam was already activated on Sepolia on October 6, and developers still aimed to deploy it on the mainnet by the end of 2026.
