Shaw Walters, founder of Eliza Labs, declared the ELIZAOS token dead on August 4, 2026, after a settlement with law firm Burwick Law, which had filed a federal class-action lawsuit alleging misleading marketing and deceptive business practices, exhausted the project’s remaining funds. The treasury now stands at zero, leaving no support infrastructure for the token. The token has plunged to approximately $0.000289, down more than 97% from its peak when the broader Eliza ecosystem commanded a valuation of $2.4 to $2.5 billion. No buyback mechanism, supply reduction, or replacement token is planned. The open-source ElizaOS framework, however, will continue development independently of the token.
