DensityAI, the AI chip startup founded by former Tesla Dojo engineers, is close to closing a funding round that values the company at roughly $10 billion, with Andreessen Horowitz leading the deal. Founded in 2025 by Ganesh Venkataramanan, the former head of Tesla’s Dojo supercomputer project, DensityAI has secured a conditional procurement agreement with Amazon Web Services, under which AWS will purchase DensityAI’s custom chips only if they meet predefined performance benchmarks. The round is expected to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars in fresh capital, with roughly 20 engineers having joined from the Tesla Dojo team. The AWS deal is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to diversify its chip supply chain, complementing its existing Graviton and Trainium processors.
