Cyberattack at Lingor: identity documents, IBAN and addresses of gold buyers leaked

Lingor, one of France’s leading physical gold dealers, confirmed it was the victim of a cyberattack with theft of sensitive customer data. The intrusion was detected on August 26, affecting customers who ordered from lingor.fr or monlingot.fr, or used the postal redemption kit service, with names, addresses, identity documents, proof of residence and IBAN potentially compromised. The company refused to pay the ransom and notified the CNIL while filing a police complaint. The number of affected clients has not been disclosed. Experts fear targeted fraud attempts, as the stolen data allows criminals to assemble a consumer credit file in just a few hours.
