Crystal Palace have signed Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu on a free transfer. The 27-year-old, who previously played for Arsenal, became available after his short-term contract with Ajax expired, having made nine appearances for the Dutch club. The London club beat several Serie A clubs to secure his signature. The move reunites him with fellow Japan international Daichi Kamada at Selhurst Park.
