Eli Ben-Sasson, cofounder of Zcash, believes that privacy and post-quantum security will become fundamental requirements across the entire cryptocurrency industry. In August, the first quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction was mined on the Bitcoin mainnet thanks to StarkWare, a startup of which Ben-Sasson is a cofounder. Zcash shielded activity has hit a four-year high with 62,379 transactions last week. Zcash developers are targeting November 5 for the deployment of the NU7 upgrade, which will reduce block time from 75 to 25 seconds. At time of writing, Zcash was trading up 5.76% in 24 hours to $15.96 and up 27% weekly.
