Cryptocurrency markets suffered a sharp sell-off on November 5, following the Nasdaq 100, which lost 6.24% and entered correction territory. Bitcoin fell back to around $76,641, down 4.89% over 24 hours, while Ether dropped to $2,269 and Solana to $90.58. More than $1.05 billion in positions were liquidated, including 88.2% of long positions, affecting approximately 202,293 traders with average losses of $5,200 per account. Nearly two-thirds of the liquidations occurred in the hour after the U.S. market opened, when the Nasdaq was down more than 3%. The shock follows an October marked by $12.5 billion in liquidations and the theft of $6.3 billion from Binance.
