The vote on the revenue section of the 2027 budget, initially scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed as more than 2,600 amendments still needed to be examined. Among the suspended measures is the taxation of certain cryptocurrency-to-stablecoin conversions, adopted on October 16, which could apply from January 1, 2027 if definitively adopted. The future of this measure remains uncertain: without a majority in the National Assembly, the government could use Article 49.3 of the Constitution or see the bill sent to the Senate. Minister of Public Accounts David Amiel estimates the deficit will deteriorate by 10 billion euros due to measures rejected by MPs. The government nonetheless maintains its target of reducing the deficit to 5% of GDP in 2027, compared to 5.4% expected in 2026.
