Two new cryptocurrency-related sequestrations have been revealed in France, in Nice and near Rennes. In Nice, a mother and her son were held hostage by two hooded individuals who stole access codes to a cryptocurrency wallet worth 25,000 dollars. In Vern-sur-Seiche, a family was targeted by individuals looking for the owner of the premises, a cryptocurrency holder, but they targeted the wrong people. These incidents add to the tally of 135 crypto kidnappings recorded in France since 2023 by the National Public Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime (PNACO), with 88 suspects already charged including 75 in provisional detention.
