Raiffeisen Bank International has selected Bitpanda to equip its eleven banks with cryptocurrency purchase, sale, and custody services for its 18 million customers across Central and Eastern Europe. The rollout will proceed market by market due to distinct regulatory frameworks: six countries fall under the EU’s MiCA regulation, while the five others (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, and Ukraine) require national licenses. Bitpanda, which already provides its white-label infrastructure to Deutsche Bank, LBBW, N26, and Lydia, has approximately 6.5 million users since its founding in 2014. This agreement triples Bitpanda’s potential reach by granting access to Raiffeisen’s banking network.
